Preventative Maintenance

Once considered an expense, preventive maintenance is now being recognized as a cost-efficient means to reduce costly repairs, keep equipment in good running condition and extend the life of equipment by as much as 40%. Just as you would perform regular maintenance on your automobile, equipment manufacturers recommend regular preventive maintenance for fitness equipment as well. There are a number of factors that determine an optimal maintenance schedule for your particular brand and type of fitness equipment, including the age of the equipment, existing wear and tear, prior damage, duration/frequency of use and type of use. Other factors, not directly related to the equipment itself, include the level of usage, physical attributes of users and the physical environment where the equipment is used.

Whatever your fitness equipment needs, one of our professional Service Technicians can recommend a preventive maintenance schedule that’s right for you

SOS Asset Management Services

SOS Asset Management monitors usage patterns to help you optimize equipment rotation, resulting in even wear and maximized product life. It also takes the guesswork out of repurchasing new equipment.

SOS Technicians have monitored user data in over 200 fitness facilities across Alberta since May of 2016. This information has provided extremely useful for our clients in a number of ways. We are provided with quantifiable data that removes the guesswork and assumptions when it comes to managing your facility and planning for future upgrades and improvements.

SOS Asset Management helps our clients in the following ways:

Equipment Selection: We can analyze data from your facility (or other facilities like yours) to discover which equipment is used most often and which equipment is not.

This will help prevent members from waiting for machines to become available by providing more of what is popular with your members and less of what's not. We can even analyze which locations within the facility are more popular and plan future layouts accordingly to avoid congestion and impeded flow

Spreading out Wear & Tear: Humans are creatures of habit. This means that the most active cardio machine users tend to use the same machine for each workout. Without proper monitoring, this can result in some cardio machines being used up to 60% more than other machines directly beside them. SOS monitors machine usage and locations and rotates heavily used machines with those used less frequently. This can add years to the life of your equipment and provide better long-term planning

Increased Member Retention: Equipment will have less downtime, placed in the ideal locations, and the facility will have adequate amounts of the most popular machines, increasing member satisfaction and providing a more enjoyable fitness experience.

Asset Management Services are included with or Platinum & Gold levels of Preventative Maintenance Agreements or can be purchased separately.  Please contact us for more information.
